Bulk solids labs help businesses refine processes, increase efficiencies
Exciting developments – and construction – are happening at the Advanced Manufacturing and Bulk Solids Technology Center, where the Process Lab is taking shape. This state-of-the-art lab will house industrial equipment that can be used for additional testing capabilities and hands-on training. Work with industry is already underway despite construction, with companies using the center's Material Properties Test Lab services to refine their manufacturing operations.
"We've set ambitious goals for our campus, including strategic growth, improving the student experience, bolstering innovation and supporting engagement with our many stakeholders," said Ben Wolfe, K-State Olathe dean and CEO.

Congratulations to Claire Barnhart, master's degree student in horticulture - urban foods systems, on a successful defense of her thesis! Her focus was on conserving soil moisture in high tunnels in order to maintain soil health.
Students, faculty and staff from K-State Olathe's Sensory and Consumer Research Center attended the STAR in Sensory Nudges Conference in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This event was organized by University of Arkansas Sensory Science Center and provided a great opportunity to visit with colleagues in the industry and academia while attending presentations. Gongshun Yang presented his dissertation work, “Exploring the perception of freshness in home care scents through sensory and psychological dimensions,” which was completed in collaboration with Takasago International.
