Urban Food Systems researcher awarded ground-breaking university grant
Kansas State University's Game-changing Research Initiative Program, or GRIP, recently announced the three winners of its inaugural grant program to address the world's grand challenges. Eleni Pliakoni, professor of urban food production and post harvest handling at K-State Olathe, received one of the awards for the proposal, "Development of Resilient Urban Food Systems That Ensure Food Security in the Face of Climate Change."
Elevating management skills topic of upcoming workshop series
K-State Olathe's 2024 leadership program for professionals provides the tools and skills needed to enhance management abilities — helping professionals achieve better results personally and as a team leader. The series is a six-session event that begins in January 2024 and wraps up in June. Participants who attend the series also will have the unique opportunity to pursue personal coaching for even more hands-on learning.
Midwest Commercial Vehicle Safety Summit returns to Kansas City
Kansas State University's Department of Civil Engineering is hosting the 2023 Midwest Commercial Vehicle Safety Summit this fall from Nov. 29-30 in downtown Kansas City.
Animal health study abroad program launches next summer
K-State Olathe is offering a new study abroad program designed to provide students in animal health programs deeper insights into animal welfare throughout the U.K. Learners will join three Olathe faculty members on their journey as they learn about animal health abroad.
