One Health collaboration brings opportunities for students, faculty
Kansas State University’s Olathe campus is working with key partners to spotlight the interconnectedness of human, animal and environmental health, known as One Health, and how its affects community health. These collaborations are supporting KC One Health Day, coming up on Nov. 1, and discovery and innovation through the national One Health Newsletter.
At K-State Olathe, we expect to have 100% of our team participate in a professional development event each year. Not only did we embed it in our strategic plan, but we built it into our budget and annual goals.
Are you investing in YOUR team?
Management Strategies: Pathways to Leadership is a six-session course that dives deep into what it means to be a leader. Your team will learn how to communicate on a deeper level, how to incorporate strengths into their management style and best practices for connecting across cultures and generations.
Here's what one participant had to say:
"What surprised me most about the leadership series was how much I learned from the other participants. This series brings together people from a diverse set of industries and with a wide range of experiences in leadership, and throughout the course you get to know the other participants quite well." -Maggie Madden, senior pricing analyst, Cargill.
This month, we welcomed our KC heart to campus as a way of celebrating our city and supporting the community. Designed by K-State alum Allison Bowman, the “heART” is themed “Of the Prairie,” and encourages people to learn more about the natural world and celebrates Kansas’ tall grasses. The heart was secured with funds set aside for artwork when the campus was built, and proceeds benefit regional nonprofit organizations.
